Text - Romans 5:5
“and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us”
HOPE is a beautiful word. It’s inspirational and motivational. It’s like music to our ears but when the hard times come - and they do come often - How strong is our HOPE.
Last week was a tough week in the history of our Nation and this week is going to be tough. Emotions are flaring around. Opinions are everywhere. Anger is the mood of the people. And Hopelessness abounds. But child of God, are we Hopeless?
To paraphrase the Apostle Paul, ‘We do not want you to complain and cry as though we are hopeless’. We are not Hopeless. There’s Hope for you and me and Nigeria. And that Hope was sealed when it was nailed to the cross of Calvary by the blood of Gods own son.
Dear Christian, Don’t accept hopelessness. It is a lie from the devil and a detraction from our core duty - Prayer. Our Faith is essential - we must not allow hopelessness to cloud our faith.
Yes, the facts are there but we must pray I believe - Help my Unbelief. And we must be deliberate about spreading and speaking hope and life. Not praying hope and positivity and talking negatively outside.
God is in control. And we have countless examples of him turning the impossible around. God loves Nigeria and he will surely come through for us. Keep Hope Alive. Spread Hope.
