Text - Micah 5:2
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me, one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
When Jesus came. It was Unexpected. He came in an unexpected time in an expected way on an unexpected day in an Unexpected place. The circumstances of his birth was not conventional - not what would be expected of a King. To crown it all he wasn’t even being anticipated. Jesus arrived at a time of such doom and gloom that even the Chief Priests had to check scripture to tell Herod what it said about the Messiah and their spirits were so dead they weren’t even curious to follow the Wise Men!
But this was Gods plan and he orchestrated everything!
I wrote a Short Poem to Reflect on this. Read, reflect and Worship the system flipper.
The UNEXPECTED Arrival of The UNEXPECTED KING
On a Silent Night Holy Night
All was calm and all was bright
It wasn't just that night that was silent
The story of God coming to mankind in human form was the opppsite of what was expected
It was silent. Quiet. Easy to miss. The Unexpected king
He came into time and space after a long silence
400 years no word from God to man and God comes to man as a child
He came to Bethlehem Ephratah. Small town. A tiny blip on the Google maps of its time. To silent Bethlehem he came.
In a manger - an insignificant place - a mesh pan for animals he was lain
The lamb of the world born in a sheeps pen visited by smelly shepherds
The king of the Jews born in the opppsite of Royalty
He grew in Nazareth. Nazareth so insignificant one of whom would follow him asked "Can any thing good come from Nazareth"
A man of the country side going to flip the world
From these humble beginnings - from this silent places came a loud cry
The cry it is finished on the cross changed history forever
The system was flipped. Access to God open. The curtain torn. The devil humiliated and marched naked on the streets of his own Abyss
Who is this king of the Jews? The one who appeared like an irony but changed the world forever
King Jesus is his name
All hail the lamb
Come let us adore Him
