Text - Judges 7:21
Every man stood in his place around the camp, and all the army ran. They cried out and fled.
God called Gideon to go deliver the Israelites from the hands of the Midianites. After much hesitation, Gideon prepared himself, selected the army as God had directed, went into battle and won. Highlights of this battle included; Gideon's war strategy (vs 16-19), the army's compliance to instructions (vs 20) and their endurance in maintaining their positions (vs 21).
We can only win our battles if we have a strategy. Battles are won by strategies and not the size of the army or the quantity/ quality of weapons. We can only win if we follow instructions and maintain our positions on the battle line.
We cannot stand in our place if we do not know it. The major problem of our society is that the church (Christians) is not standing in her place on the battle line. I am afraid we do not know our place or we refuse to obey instructions.
What are we as Christians in Nigeria supposed to do about the things going on around us? The killings, abductions/kidnapping, stealing and corruption. Looking at our situation, one cannot help but ask, maybe rhetorically, “Are Christians also involved in the running of the affairs of this country?”
The real question we should ask is Do we know our place? Do the Christians in Public offices know their place? And are we standing in our places
To Heart
Look where you stand? Are you standing in your place? Know your place today and stand there, the Lord has given us victory but we cannot achieve it if we do not know the war strategy and follow it. Do not take another person's position.
KNOW YOUR POSITION TODAY AND MAINTAIN IT.
