Text - Psalm 37:5
“Commit your ways to God, trust also in Him and He shall bring it to pass”.
The end of the year is fast approaching. Companies at this time take stock of the profits, losses and investments they have made during the year, and strategize on how they can improve in the coming year.
Some people go through years without reasonably achieving anything. Some prefer to round up their year with complaints, while others choose to end the year with praise because of what the Lord has done for them.
Truly, taking the year's stock of how it played out for you can be quite a demand, but it is very necessary. Doing a round up recount of how you spent the year, helps you know you fall outs, victories and areas of improvement for the upcoming year.
Looking at general national and global issues, it has been another cross section of drama everywhere. From the stables of Nigeria; the naira downward journey, the continuous pungent lies and laissez-faire governance attitude from the leadership, poverty on the increase, crime at a stupidly high rate.
Then the world hasn't even been lenient with us; the rumors of war, the hostile takeover of the Taliban’s and aftermath crisis in Afghanistan, Iran's Nuclear program advances, Ethiopia's civil unrest, now the new wave of COVID 19 variant - Omicron.
All these factors have been very disheartening, and it's a roundup for the year.
It's been quite a year. However, this should not cripple our hope in Christ. This is just clearly a pointer to the Lord's coming which we need to have our hands on deck for.
This year, how well did you live for Christ?
This year, did you draw men to Him?
This year, did you attain great heights personally and spiritually?
This year did you accomplish all you wrote down for 2021?
Are you ending the year disappointed?
Do you feel satisfied with the year coming to an end?
Do you feel spurred to do more?
It will help you know how you lived this year, and whether you need to do better in the incoming year.
Let crossing into a new year not just be another banal event happening, let it be a humbling sacrifice of total surrender and service to God. The year may not have been so good, but He has been good to you to make you a victor to this time. Trust Him for all of 2022. Commit your ways to Him for the imminent year ahead, and watch Him glorify Himself in your 2022.
Happy new year in advance. I love you all.
