Text - Acts 4:1-20, Romans 1:16
For a long time, I thought that there were certain people assigned to preach the gospel and I’m sure a lot of us have felt that way at times and stages too. But there is no such thing. Yes some are called to full time Evangelism but every child of God that can talk should and must preach the word.
The word of God is like a seed which once sown can never die. That is why the Bible says, “Sow your seed in the morning and in the evening for you know not which might grow perhaps they might all grow".
1 Corinthians 9:16 says, For though I preach the gospel, I have nothing to glory of: for necessity is laid on me : yea, woe is unto me if I preach not the gospel.
The gospel is simply Christ, him being crucified, his resurrection no more no less. So any message outside this is not the gospel.
In the 1st Corinthians passage, we see how Peter and John were not scared to preach the word. Somehow preaching comes with boldness so do not be scared of preaching. When you go out, remember it's not your words you speak when preaching - but Gods and let him take over. This isn’t an assurance that things wouldn’t go wrong when you're preaching sometimes but don't let worry and fret keep you from preaching the gospel.
Never keep quiet your voice might be what will save someone.
Always speak about God in school, social media, work and everywhere man is found. Our attitude should mirror peter and Johns’ who when asked not to preach in the name of Jesus answered saying," For we cannot stop speaking of what we ourselves have seen and heard".
If God has ever done anything good for you, then preach! We all like to talk about good things that have happened to us yeah? So if you have experienced the goodness of God do not be quiet praise him, speak , talk , shout , use , sign language , just preach Christ.
You cannot preach without knowing what to say and you cannot know what to say if the holy Spirit is not in you. So allow Jesus to have his way in your life and he will tell you when to speak, how to speak, to whom to speak and what to speak.
Also don't think you can live your life anyhow and preach with your mouth No! Yes God may speak through you but for those who know you, the message is already dead to them because people prefer action to words.
Do not be the reason why people will refuse Christ and the Gospel. Preach with your character, behavior, and then words.
Remember you can't give what you don't have.
To Heart
Blessed are those who give for they shall receive. If you want more of God, speak more about him to people and more of Him shall be given unto you. How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, who bring glad tidings of good things.
