Text - 1 Thessalonians 4:13b
“so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope.”
Today, Nigeria our great Nation is 62 Years old. 62 years ago, Great Britain officially declared Nigeria’s independence and the Union Jack was lowered.
62 Years later, Nigeria has left her people feeling disheartened and discouraged. I am almost 100 per cent sure you snickered when you saw the Flag above and the immediate feeling was not one of love or adoration.
Yet we are spiritual people and we must look up to God.
Writing to the Church in Thessalonica about Physical death, The Apostle Paul says, “So you do not grieve like those without hope”. Paul reminds the Thessalonians and us that;
Our Hope is not hinged on temporary situations or what is happening around us but on our God! And our God is the GOD of Hope.
You cannot afford to not believe in Nigeria. We are not simply waiting to die, Nigeria will be better. God’s eye and hands are on and in this nation and Nigeria will be a lighthouse to the world.
Today I encourage you to Pray for Nigeria. Trust God with Nigeria. Hope for Nigeria. And be patient and trust God. And when you are done, do not engage in negative talk.
