Text - Mark 7:25-30
Whenever I come across this verse of the Bible, I always feel it isn't fair that Jesus tells the woman in our text to wait.
“First let the children eat all they want,” he told her, “for it is not right to take the children’s bread and toss it to the dogs.”
This made me question who the dogs and children were
My eyes were opened to the fact that the dogs are unbelievers, people who don't know God and don't believe in him. You can claim to be a Christian but not believe in God. The children are simply people who believe in God or Christians.
Only Christians have access to sit with God at the "table" to eat "food (inheritance) which includes; healing, provision, protection, etc. That is to say that for each genuine child of God, there is an inheritance and great blessing.
But we see something interesting in this story and other stories. That even the unbeliever who has faith in God for something receives from him. This woman believed who she didn't really know and due to her faith, her daughter was delivered, how much more for you who know God?
The real food belongs to you because you are a son or daughter. so therefore you don't have to eat crumbs. No more!!
I see a lot of Christians eating crumbs/left overs, due to ignorance. The ignorance comes in different ways but here is one clear example. Christians have been taken far away from God by, “men of God”, who make it look like they are the only ones that can actually sit with God and eat from that glorious table and pour whatever is left to the congregation. This men make believers do unthinkable things and feed from the crumbs by listening and obeying every single thing they tell them.
It is good to give honor to whom honor is due but it is better to know God for yourself. We are supposed to be partakers of this great inheritance, why aren't we taking our place?
From the very moment Jesus died, the curtain was torn therefore giving us direct access to God. And now we can also be partakers of everything God promises his children. The Bible is there for us, do not be lazy and wait for someone to tell you what God is saying concerning your life.
I challenge you to know God for yourself. Tell him to reveal himself to you and He answers prayers. It is time to arise child of God and stop feeding from the floor. I hear the savior say there is more than what you are picking from the floor - come and I am offering you the true meal properly prepared with a balanced diet and plenty meat.
And to the unbeliever that may be reading this, He never stopped waiting for you to come. He wants to receive you but you must come first. Just give him a chance, tell him you’re sorry for your past sins, tell him to come into your life and take over, hank him for answered prayers. It is that simple. Welcome to the faith.
