Text - Hosea 4:6
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge..."
Ignorance is often seen as bliss for some kind of instances, but wholly, it is not an acceptable norm anywhere, anytime. The world is run by knowledge, that's the gospel truth.
The life of a child of God, omniscient God, should never be under the canopy of ignorance. If not, the Devil will have such an ignorant Christian as his all time “suya”.
Knowledge is in my own words, access to information that can put you in a clearer view of a particular subject. It is knowing about something you did not know before, or something you know already but seek to know more. Either views on what knowledge is, helps us see that knowledge is the act of being aware.
As children of God, the devil know that once we are aware of who we are, there is no end to his defeat here on earth, and that is why he creates a challenge of making the word of God and the things of God to be seen as banal.
First off, before becoming God's dear own, the Bible tells us in John3:16, that He loved us so much, that He sent His very own beloved son to die for us, and only through Jesus are we saved. Without knowing this amazing revelation, a sinner would think that his whole life is condemned and would keep feeling that way, to the extent of wanting to end his life. Whereas, its not true, because God is love and is waiting earnestly for him.
In the Bible, the essence of knowledge is innumerable to be put in a definite number. The beginning of knowledge is the fear of the Lord (Prov.1:7). The fear of the Lord only comes when we have deeper insight into who this God is.
The importance of knowledge here is that, you are confident in what you know - that is why getting in on the word of God can be of help to you through the help of the Holy Spirit. Studying the Holy Bible, God's love letter gives us ample opportunity to strengthen our faith and walk with God.
A person struggling with self confidence and accepting himself as he is, will want to know that he is beautifully molded by God into His perfect image (Ps.139:14).
Anybody feeling discouraged over life and the overwhelming issues globally, should know that, God has promised that through it all, He is with you and will never leave you (Isa. 43:1-3).
Someone thinking suicidal thoughts, because of a hopeless situation, should know that, there is hope for a tree that is cut down, it will sprout again! (Job 14:7-9).
See, all these truths I just shared are not because, I'm some guru. They’re all in the Bible for us to see and revel in, even as we speak in authority God's words concerning us. Paul saw how great knowing God entailed, that is why he declared his goal - to know God more (Phil. 3:10-11).
If you do not know who God is personally, what He says, you'll be easy meat for the devil; with the rise in false prophecies, prophets, doctrines. Our only panacea to the viral pollution is, digging deep into God's unending love, and finding peace from His word.
When you know Him, you know who you are, and what great and mighty things He has in store for you ( trust me, they are so many!😁).
“…but the people that do know their God shall be strong and do exploits.” (Dan 11:32b).
Take hold of knowledge today and always have it. God bless you.
