Text - 2 Peter 3:18. Galatians 4:1
Have you wondered why God's great riches, inheritance or promises over your life haven't come to pass? This could just be the reason Paul wrote Gal 4:1. God promises us great and mighty things from now on earth till in eternity but as long as you remain a child in your Christian walk, you can never acquire all of that on Earth.
Think of it this way, if a father dies leaving all his inheritance to his under age and young children, those children will not be given the inheritance until they grow up and become matured to some extent and this makes them not so different from slaves. If a child is given money for example at the age of 14, he will squander it and end up ruining his life and future. So it is almost the same with our walk with God.
At the moment you give your life to Christ, you are born again (like a new born baby), and you will be put under instruction and guidance until you grow.
The good news is Christians don't need too much time to grow so long as they stay focused, everything will be quick and fast. That doesn't mean you stop growing or you reach an age where you stop being discipled.
Allow yourself to grow in spiritual strength and be better acquainted with our Lord. And this may take time and processes so in all be patient and allow yourself to be schooled by the spirit because we don't skip classes in the spiritual realm.
If you don't pass one class in the spirit you can never be promoted to the next just as you can't place broom sticks in between two blocks and expect the building to stand.
How can I grow you may ask,
Don't ignore the spiritual authorities placed above your life.
Allow yourself to be discipled by a trusted Christian.
Read the Bible and hear God for yourself.
Pray to have a better relationship with God and commit all that you think of to God in prayer. He listens and answers prayers.
Fellowship with other believers and brethren (Go to church).
Join a department or group in your church.
Have friends that love and know God.
Don't ever reach a stage where you fill you have arrived as a Christian keep growing!
Most of the great pastors and people you see are matured in the faith. And that is why they can do all that they do and they have all that God has blessed them with. If we want to reach that stage, we must grow. So no more childishness anymore this growth is not in age or amount of years spent as a Christian, it is in our works and prayer.
TO HEART
God can only be limited by your prayer and works. Remember you are who you are today, as a result of the prayers you made yesterday.
