Text - Romans 8:11
But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.
Hello Readers. Happy New Month! And Happy second half of 2022! A whole six months have gone and in six months it would be 2023. God has been faithful. I want to encourage you to hold on to God and trust him. If you’re like me, not everything on your 2022 prayer list has come through and you’re probably living a different life from the one you assumed you would be living. But God is faithful and can be trusted. Hold on to your faith and fix your eyes on him.
Recently I asked the children I teach to teach me a song and they brought up a song I tagged silly as soon as I heard it. The song goes
Devil I senior You
Spiritually. Academically, Mentally, …
I senior you
I wondered who would form such a song but I realized two things - the wordings of the song were close to the truth and many Christians do not live in that truth.
We live in a broken sinful world full of evil spurred by satanic and demonic influences and we have made the subtle mistake of undermining and underestimating the power that lives in us and is accessible to us in the Holy Spirit.
The Resurrection is unarguably the greatest miracle of all times and guess what - its unarguable fact. Jesus raising Lazarus from the dead was amazing but its incomparable to raising his own self from dead. I mean, he legit rose his own self and made his bed as the man of order he is. And he promised us the holy spirit promising we would do greater things.
You are like a super human. And your super power source is the Holy Spirit.
You are not normal. You are Gods child and his spirit empowers you - to Live, to thrive, to Live above sin and to do Gods work. Live with the realization of that power. Have you ever done something and been amazed at how you did it easily? That’s the Power that is accessible to you every day, every time.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline - 2 Tim 1:7
The Spirit God gave us is a powerful bold one, one that isn’t afraid or deterred by life and its storms. One that is not shook by the devil and his inklings and knows that Victory is assured.
The Spirit God gave us is one that LOVES wholly even when its hard and senseless. One that sees people as God does and is constantly showing Love and care to every one that comes our way. One that Forgives. One that is patient, kind and does not keep record of wrongs. One that is not self seeking. One that bears all things, hopes all things, believes all things. One that doesn’t end.
The Spirit God gave us is one that empowers us to live a life of Self Discipline. One that empowers us to say No! to sin and the Devil. One that leads us to live and walk in righteousness.
That’s the Power.
This month we will examine the power of the Holy Spirit and what it means for us as Christians. God help us to be Christians who live as he made us to live.
