Text - Matthew 28:18 - 20
Unlike other relationships where the parties spend time apart from each other sometimes due to one reason or the other, the relationship Jesus has promised us is one of perpetual intimacy in that even when He sends us, He still goes with us.
Sometimes I get anxious when I think of the Great Commission. “Go and make disciples of all nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit”, Jesus says. To think that this great commission includes me and I have a part to play in it gives me the chills but then I remember verse 20 where He says that He will be with me always even to the end of the age. How comforting!
That the King of Kings will always be by my side as we take over the world. The worries seem to fade away at that very instant as the challenges shrink before my Partner and my Maker.
With God on my side, who shall I fear?
I am making it a habit to remind myself every day that I do not walk alone and I suggest you do too. The peace derived from this habit is unparalleled.
For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). We should therefore approach this great commission with confidence. Confidence that the King of Kings is with us and with confidence that He will never leave us nor forsake us. The world may appear to be scary but I pray that God will do to us as He did to Elisha and His servant so that we will see that those that are with us are greater than those that are against us (2 Kings 6:15-17).
We move with no hindrance, nations come to our light, and the world is won for Christ.
Hallelujah.
