Text - Luke 1:38
Hello Readers,
Happy New Month!
HAPPY DECEMBER!
Just like Yesterday, I was writing a post on the first of January and here we are on the first of December. 2022 is literally at the corner. Its been quite the ride and I’m sure you have volumes of stories about this year.
We’re in the final season of the year - a season of joy and glee, the most beautiful season but yet the season in which we forget what is important the most.
It’s easy to read the Christmas story and wonder if Joseph was serious at all. Or how all the inns and hotels in Bethlehem did not take pity on Mary’s state and provide room immediately. Its always mind boggling that the saviour of the world was born in the manger. But what happened in Bethlehem is very similar to what happens with a lot of us
Have we made room for God?
One of my favorite Christmas songs (check below for link) is “Make Room” by Casting Crowns. They ask a profound question. “Is there room for your Heart for God to write his Story”. Mary is a shining model. She made room for God to write his story. She received one of the most shocking news a young girl could ever receive - especially in the cultural context she was raised in. She was told she would bear a child conceived by the Holy Spirit. This was stoning to death worthy in her culture. She could have protested but she replied, “I am the Lord’s servant, May your word to me be fulfilled.”
Like Mary, Have you made home for the child born in Bethlehem who is now saviour of the world and Lover of your soul
Have you surrendered the script of your life to the master scripter
This December, Make room for the King. God is writing a story and you are part of it. If you’d let him. Make Room!
