Text- Jeremiah 29:11
In a world where everything seems to be trying its best to go sideways, it's getting harder to hang on to God's words.
Finishing a 4-year course in 6 years, not getting admission on time, getting turned down at that job interview, the loss of a loved one, insufficient funds, traumatic near-death experiences. I mean, there are times things literally seem to be working tirelessly against us.
During such times, it's easy to get scared and frustrated. It's okay to feel that way in the moment, but it's important we don't remain in that state.
At times like these, I remember the words of my dad.
God knows the number of hair strands on our heads. He doesn't just stop there, He knows each strand of hair by name. So when you shed or cut your hair, He is aware of the particular strands that fell to the ground.
This shows how God pays attention to even the most seemingly insignificant details of our lives. So, if He knows about the hair on our heads, don't you think He knows what your tomorrow holds?
He knew that you'd have to endure 2 strikes before you finish from school, He was aware that you'd be at home for a year way before the pandemic surfaced.
He knows where He's taking you, but He also knows what you'll go through on the way there. Out of the hardships and apparent delays, He's building your character.
God is all- knowing so we can't even exhaust that list. I'm just trying to remind you that there is nothing that happens that takes God by surprise. This omniscient God is the one saying “I know the plans I have for you…”. He is a good father, so His plans for His kids can't be anything short of good.
When troubled waters rise and I start to fret, I hear Him deep within me. Rett, calm down. I knew about it before you did. It was all taken care of before you saw the storm coming.
As the KJV would put, there's a beautiful expected end that God has planned for you. Trust Him as He takes you on the journey to that expected end.
I do pray that even in the midst of what seems like chaos, you'll hear His soothing voice whisper: I know. I've worked it out already.
