We sing about it, we hear about it. But is it real or just a myth?
This "It" is known as the presence of God. When you feel one's presence, it can be through the peculiar scent, voice, a certain aura or footsteps. It must be something special, peculiar to that person.
The presence of God is very real. It can be experienced by His voice speaking to us, His touch, His word, His love we feel.
The presence of God was not always there for the taking. If you see through the period of the old testament, the children of Israel did not as much as have one-on-one fellowship with God. His presence was there quite alright, but it was the duty of Moses, the Priest, other judges and prophets to stand in the middle between God and the people, so that He could speak or move in their midst .
Today, the difference is mirror clear. There was a promise made long ago about His presence being with us, that we will no longer have to seek an ark or a priest to experience Him (Is. 9:11, Joel 2:28).
Then came Jesus Christ (This is a good place to pause and say; Thank You, Jesus!🥰).
Jesus was present as God's presence here on Earth for 33 years, but He was still limited from being everywhere at every time, because He was in human form (Phil 2:7, Heb 2:7-9). So Jesus promised us that He will send the comforter, who will guide us into all truth. He will lead us into God's presence always, after all He is the mind of Christ (Jn. 4:23-24, Jn 14:16).
The presence of God doesn't need Facetime, WhatsApp video call or Skype to facilitate it. His presence is right here with us, ever present, ever there.
God's presence is always with us now. In faith, we can abide in His presence, if we choose to. Coming into His presence isn't meant to be practiced as a ritual anymore, as it was in ancient times.
We can enter into His presence and be there, through the help of the Holy Spirit, and faith in God's son, Jesus. Our fellowship with other believers in Christ still welcomes in the presence of God, so don't abandon it (Heb. 10:25). Through faith in His blood, and through the help of His spirit, we come in (Heb. 4:16).
He desires to fellowship with us, but He wont force us.
It's in His presence that; You draw strength (Psa. 61:2; 71:3), You find peace, You experience joy (Psa. 16:11), You know His love, You give your battles to Him to fight, You grow, You intercede for others, You find meaning for your life, You find direction for your everyday, You get your sanity in this voraciously crazy world.
His presence is everything, that's why you cant trade it on the altar of sin. Never allow the Devil deceive you, because he knows that when you advance in your stay in God's presence, he cant stand a chance.
So practice to stay in His presence, long for His presence, reach for His presence. You can sing hymns, or beautiful love songs to Him, you can express yourself out rightly to Him when you feel down about an issue. His presence is where we must be. Please enjoy these beautiful songs
