Text - 1 Corinthians 5:15
What is your Easter story? A friend today, said the reason he celebrates Easter is because Christ brought salvation to us all. I asked him if he had another reason but he kept quiet. Aside from the Salvation Christ brought us all, His death has lots of other reasons and benefits and we tend to neglect most of them. Easter is supposed to be the most celebrated event in our lives but then we tend to celebrate it less than expected. The significance of Easter is supposed to bring us more and more closer to Christ knowing well that He died to save us all.
In the story of Christ’ death, two significant things happened;
First, The graves of Godly men opened and they were raised from the death. This were not just ordinary men but Godly men. Probably they all lived a good life and they were given another chance to live.
Christ death did not only give us salvation but Christ death brought them and us to life.
Consequently, the soldier(s) that were there said “Truly this is the Son of God”. These Soldier(s) were the same people that nailed Him to the cross but they were astonished at what happened that they believed he is truly the Son of God. They had encountered Life!
Christ died so we could have another life. Every Easter we celebrate marks a new life in Christ. His death should remind us that we have been given another chance to live, another chance to serve him better than ever before. Christ death should bring us back to the truth that we are loved and expected to live a worthy life so as to gain another life.
HE DIED ON THE CROSS KNOWING THAT HE WOULD BE DOUBLE CROSSED
Happy Easter!
Happy New Month!
