Text - Proverbs 23:18
“There is surely a future hope for you, and your hope will not be cut off”.
This season is one filled with anticipation. Many are looking forward to celebrating Christmas and many more are looking forward to what the new year holds.
In all these, some expect good things, some expect bad things, and some have mixed feelings. Some want to celebrate Christmas don’t want to spend too much so they’ll not end up being broke in the new year.
Whatever your expectations may be, they are valid because in this world, good and bad things happen. However, the Lord Jesus has shown us by His Spirit through His Word that whatever the case may be, whether good or bad, He is turning around everything for the good of those who love Him (Rom. 8:28).
In this season therefore, I want to encourage you to do two things:
First, focus on loving the Lord because when you do that, you will find out that everything will fall into place; the good situations and the “bad” will turn out in your favour.
Secondly, according to the word of God, think positively.
The book of Philippians chapter 4:8 says ‘Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.’
If you do these things, the peace of God will guard your heart and your mind. Walk in love and walk anticipating good things. Look forward to the future with hope, those who put their trust in the Lord will never be put to shame.
